O'FALLON, Mo. — The body of a missing woman was found inside a drainage culvert here on Tuesday, less than a half-mile from her home, police officials said.
Keywana Montgomery, 36, had been missing since Sunday morning. She was last seen at her home on Jacqueline Circle, a residential area near the intersection of Highway K and Highway N in O'Fallon.
O'Fallon Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Bryan Harr said investigators do not suspect foul play in Montgomery's death, but said the investigation is ongoing.Â
Harr said the department is awaiting a forensic exam by the medical examiner and detectives are compiling and reviewing surveillance videos from nearby businesses. That work is expected to be completed within several weeks, he said.Â
Police had described Montgomery as an "endangered person" in a press release on Tuesday morning. Hours later, a K-9 officer helped authorities locate her body inside a culvert that Harr described as "covered with debris."Â
He said the area received significant rainfall both Saturday and Sunday, which would have lodged the debris in the culvert.
