The top four finishers in each of the tournament's weight divisions advanced to compete Feb. 28-March 1 in the Illinois girls wrestling state tournament at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington.

"We did an amazing job, and it was a fun tournament to be a part of,'' said Troy senior leader Zoey Haney, who won the 100-pound division.

Moriyah聽Douglass had 26 points and 12 rebounds while聽Breaunna Ward provided 23 points and 11 boards.

Breese Central (21-5) earned a measure of revenge for a 55-54 overtime loss to Mater Dei in the championship game of the Mater Dei holiday tournament.
Zumwalt West (15-4 overall, 4-2 conference) remained alive in the league chase by knocking off the Trojans (16-5, 4-2), who beat Zumwalt West 50-34 in Lincoln County three weeks earlier.
"We're just so proud of what she's done for us," Collinsville coach Colin Moore said.聽
Defense was the word of the day for Hawks, who held Festus scoreless for a stretch of 7 minutes 57 seconds in the first half and 5:01 in the second.
East St. Louis (11-12) beat Cardinal Ritter (7-12) for the second successive season.
"Tonight was special because we kept fighting hard and never gave up. That's what she'd be most proud of,"聽Ava Vanecek said.

The top division, the Challenge Cup, begins February 18. The middle-tier Wickenheiser Cup gets under way Friday, and the Founders Cup started play Thursday with three games.
