Wholesale distributor Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits is slated to relocate from St. Charles to the Kansas City area, potentially laying off 94 workers.
In a notice filed with the , the company said that it intends to offer all employees now working in St. Charles positions at the company’s new warehouse facility in Raymore, Missouri. But employees who don’t transfer will be permanently laid off Nov. 1.
“The company understands that this move may not be practical for all employees currently working at the St. Charles facility,†the notice reads.
More than half of those affected are union warehouse workers represented by Teamsters Local 688.
Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits is a family-owned alcoholic beverage distributor company with over 40 distribution centers across North America. The business is headquartered in Miami and Dallas.

The St. Charles warehouse is at 3831 Mueller Road, off of Interstate 370. According to the Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, St. Charles is its only Missouri location.
Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
