In terms of a person I look up to, Matt Carpenter is my role model. The way he plays the game and how hard he works is something I really like. He lets his game show how good of a player is, he doesn't feel the need to talk about it. Even when he was having a career year, he wasn't content. He was the first to the field and last to leave it, showing his dedication to the sport."

Personal story: "One of the best times of my high school career was in sophomore year when our baseball team went to state. I was the starting third baseman and it was my first year on varsity. We lost in the championship game on a walk-off hit, but that experience taught me how to perform on such a big stage, and it gave me experience and confidence for future playoff runs; not to mention the amount of fun I had that weekend with our team."

Personal story: "One of the greatest things that I have accomplished thus far in my life was the completion of my Eagle project. I helped plan and led construction of a 26 foot long, 8 foot wide timber bridge located in St. Louis County's West Tyson Park. The bridge was completed in July 2013 and provides access to the opposite side of the creek for both pedestrian and machine access."

Personal story: "I qualified to play in the Junior PGA National Championship last summer. Donald Trump hosted the tournament at Trump National in Washington, D.C. It was an awesome experience for me because I was able to compete against the best players. The tournament was set up like an actual professional tournament and was by far the best tournament I have ever played in. Donald Trump was there for the tournament. One time after a shot, I turned around because I heard clapping, and there was Trump; clapping for me. That was an incredible experience even though I was not at the top of the leaderboard."

Personal story: "Last year after Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast I wanted to do something to help those in need. With the help of my basketball coach I was able to get the entire student body and faculty at my high school to make fleece blankets to send to victims. The blankets were sent to a school with which a friend of mine had a connection, as well as a family whose father was killed in the hurricane. This year I have been fundraising for a school in Nairobi, Kenya. The school has 200 students, 100 of whom are boarders, orphaned or disadvantaged. They needed new metal bunk beds because their old wooden ones were rotting from bugs. I was able to raise $4,000 this year to fund 40 new beds for the kids."

From a very young age, my brothers, cousins and myself have helped my parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts work on the farm. We all have learned how to drive tractors, plant crops, harvest crops, make a garden, feed cattle, clean calf stalls and milk cows! Personal story: "I wasn't given the best start in life, but I will have the best ending. I started off as one of the many under-served cases of poverty, and battled through that by enlisting in the Army and earning money to help my family out. I know my next step is to complete college and join the Air Force, but I don't know what is in my future after that. I have been given numerous opportunities to make my life the best I can. My opportunities include earning an education, becoming cadet commander of my ROTC unit, working with State Rep. William Lacy Clay, becoming homecoming queen, and being accepted to all of the colleges I applied to.

I have basically been practicing nursing for my whole life. I have taken care of my grandmother (cancer), father (broken leg, gunshot wounds, and broken collarbone), and elderly people around my neighborhood (walking dogs, moving furniture, and cleaning their houses). I feel that this would be the best option for me because I am passionate about this field of study and I am use to all the task nurses do! Whether its cleaning wounds, injecting medication, or just comforting someone in times of need, I am prepared for nursing."

They never fail to lighten the mood because they're always so positive."

Personal story: "I broke the St. Clair High School girls discus record three days after the boys discus record was broken, which had previously belonged to my dad for nearly 30 years. The morning after I won Courtwarming Queen, I wore my crown to take the ACT and got Bright Flight."

Personal story:  "In seventh grade I was playing goalie in an indoor game when I tried to make a save and broke my wrist. I didn't realize that it was broken at the time, though, because it didn't hurt that much. I ended up finishing the game and scoring a goal. I then went and played a basketball game with it broken. I had been 'stretching it' all day so it felt fine. I unconsciously was guarding it while I played, and my mom yelled at me to either use it or get off the court. I began using it and played for a while until some kid slapped it. At that moment I realized it was broken, and after the game we went to the urgent care."

Since field hockey is a sport that puts a lot of strain on the back, this has been an obstacle for me."

I had the opportunity to play with two Division I players, Brianna Lore and Tianna Stockley, who taught me that with hard work and discipline, a team can accomplish great things and have a lot of fun at the same time. I will never forget our ride to state because it was such a great experience with amazing teammates."
